Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with a valid CA RN license and Epic charting experience for a 13-week assignment with variable evening and night shifts.

Details

• Emergency Department unit within a hospital setting
• General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients in a non-trauma, stroke-certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR
• Variable evening and night shifts (3x12 hours), including 1p-1a, 4p-4a, and 7p-7a rotations
• Required to work every other weekend

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of ED RN experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Competent in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and arterial/central line management
• Experience managing patients with head injuries, spinal cord injuries, seizures, CVA, and other emergent conditions
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in administration of continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases
• Assist in the identification and reporting of neglect or abuse cases
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Former employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have solid ED RN experience
