Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level III NICU position requiring at least 2 years of level 3 NICU experience.

Details

• Level III NICU within a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Cares for NICU patients as well as adult patients throughout the hospital
• Patient ratios vary based on staffing needs
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Voluntary on-call schedule
• Floats to like units/patient locations, including adult units
• Uses Cerner EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
• Works with PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators, as well as 3100A oscillators

Requirements

• BLS and NRP certifications required for NICU
• ACLS/APLS certifications preferred
• RRT preferred, CRT considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU required
• Experience with ground transports and Nitric Oxide administration required, transport experience preferred
• Must be able to work independently in a Level 3 NICU
• Adult general and critical care skills required
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience and Cerner or Epic EMR experience
• Travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be accepted
• New or returning travelers (gone 1+ years) receive 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours on the unit
• Rehire orientation length depends on last date worked at facility
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per policy
• Up to 7 days of time off can be pre-approved, excluding facility blackout dates
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided in parking deck
• 60-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• Former staff must wait 6 months after separation before being considered as a traveler
