Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active VA or compact RN license and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work on a high-volume post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit caring for urology and GYN surgical populations
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract
• Must work two of the three winter holidays

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required through the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum of two years of recent relevant Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Proficiency in Epic charting system required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central and PICC line care, wound care, and rapid response protocols
• Must pass EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher, with no remediation available
• Cannot accommodate PAPR use; any history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy
• No prior license or background hits will be accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit including monitoring, medication administration, and line management
• 3 hours of pre-start modules required
• Requested time off must be submitted for review and will be approved on a per-case basis
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for RN positions
• A valid driver's license required for address verification prior to offer acceptance
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience
