Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• 13-week contract in a Respiratory Care unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1800-0630
• Patient ratio of 1:12-16
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Works in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Performs airway management, intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV, and performs weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administers a range of respiratory medications and performs ABG interpretation and drawing
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• RRT license required if applicable
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP and PALS certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pulmonary function and spirometry experience preferred
• Neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedure experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients across critical care and emergency settings
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and airway management procedures
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal respiratory care as needed
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• First-time travelers accepted
• RTO limited to 2 requests per contract
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Traveler's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Non-billable orientation modules, up to 4 hours, completed during orientation
