Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital requiring PICC line management and IV starting experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (0645-1915)
• Must be willing to accept up to 1:7 patient ratio if needed
• Required to work every other weekend, with make-up weekends scheduled if time off falls on a weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• Cerner EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of application
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted, RQI cards not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• PICC line management and IV starting/maintenance experience required
• Must be willing to care for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients (experience not required, willingness to learn required)
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care including wound care, ostomy management, feeding tube care, and medication administration
• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility
• Scrub color: any solid color
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Only one winter holiday off may be requested, with RTO reviewed and approved by the unit manager based on scheduling needs
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
