Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact license and strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.

Details

• 37-bed intermediate-acuity telemetry step-down unit managing complex cardiovascular and general medical conditions
• Patient population includes acute coronary syndromes, decompensated heart failure, post-PCI/cardiac catheterization patients, and arrhythmias requiring titratable antiarrhythmics
• Cares for patients on vasoactive drips (non-invasive) and high-flow oxygen support
• Ideal patient ratios of 4:1 days and 5:1 nights
• Night shift schedule, 3 shifts per week at 12 hours each (6:45 pm - 7:15 am)
• Every other weekend required with rotating holiday coverage
• 13-week contract length

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum two years of RN experience required
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills and experience with titratable infusions required
• Ability to recognize subtle clinical changes in complex patients

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of a physician
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to identify and pursue expected patient outcomes
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues
• Communicate with patients and families using cultural competency and active listening to update care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment through standard precautions and infection control practices
• Complete annual competency assessments per documented checklist
