Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of full lifespan (neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric) critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy Services: Pulmonary unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with a Primary Stroke Center
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric respiratory patients
• 1:1 patient ratios
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 6pm start, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Potential floating to other hospitals within the Patient Service Area based on contract terms
• Uses PB840, PB980, Servo-U, and Hamilton ventilators, V60 and ResMed/RemStar CPAP/BiPAP, Optiflow, and Hamilton transport vents
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RT license required (if applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA)
• RRT required, CRT also accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience across full lifespan patient care including peds, adults, and geriatrics
• Neonatal and pediatric experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in trach care, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws
• Critical care experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Provide respiratory therapy care across the full patient lifespan, from neonates through geriatric patients
• Supervisor support available on the unit
• One day of orientation provided on the unit
• Holiday coverage required based on facility needs
• Charcoal gray scrub color required

• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Former Advocate Health employees must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
