Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift acute care position requiring 2 years' experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with 26 beds
- General medical patient population with a variety of common diagnoses
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4 during days and 1:7-8 at night
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required, including working the entire weekend
- Every other holiday required
- Charge nurse support shared with adjacent unit
- Nurse aide support at a 1:8 ratio
- IV team available 7am-8:30pm with 24/7 nurse resource support for IV assistance
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7, though nurses perform respiratory treatments
- 24/7 in-house hospitalist coverage
- 24/7 pharmacy availability
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Nurses are responsible for performing respiratory treatments on the unit
- Scrub color is Caribbean blue with black or Caribbean blue pants; black or white shirts may be worn underneath but top layer must be uniform color
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Blocked schedules cannot be accommodated
- Candidates must be available to work every other Sunday and full weekends when scheduled
- Minimal RTO requested, with no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered
