Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring craniotomy and burr hole experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Operating Room setting supporting Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma cases
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, Friday through Sunday with no on-call requirements
- 36 or 40 hour weekly options available, including 4x10s or 3x12s
- Utilizes the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures
- Allscripts charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required; ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
- 2 years of Operating Room experience required
- Craniotomy and burr hole experience required
- Experience with trauma, orthopedic, neurology, and general surgery procedures preferred, including spinal fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, joint replacement, and laparoscopic procedures
- Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties including neuro/spine, orthopedic/trauma, and general/robotic surgery
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
- Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan
- Candidates must reside within 150 miles for local radius consideration; local candidates not accepted
- Previous permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Travel experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers may be considered
