Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced, combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department, requiring NY licensure and strong emergency nursing skills.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed and shared acuity levels
• Evening shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when census warrants
• Epic EMR system used for charting

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of ER experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Experience with CVA management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG

Additional Information

• Fast-paced ER environment suited for strong, experienced RNs
• Manage patients with respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric conditions including drug overdose and suicidal patients
• Apply splints and manage orthopedic care as needed
• Scrub colors limited to navy and white combinations
• Minimal RTO preferred for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
