Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level III NICU-based Float Pool RN requiring active NJ or Compact RN license and NICU Level III/PICU experience.

Details

• NICU-based float pool position in a 56-bed Level III NICU and Regional Perinatal Center
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
• 37.5 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required without exception to PICU, Peds, and NBN units, with assignments matched to skill set
• Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census, and staffing (typically 1:1-3)
• Cares for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required, with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC
• Experience with IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
• Ventilator management experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management
• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care experience
• EPIC charting experience required

• Work within a Regional Perinatal Center caring for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns annually
• Located within a 597-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
• Part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system
• Scrub requirement: Navy pants with Peds top
• Winter holiday coverage required: must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
