Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with general surgery experience and call shift availability for a rotating day-shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with alternating start times (0645-1515 and 0645-1915), 40 hours per week
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• On-call shifts required, up to 5 per 6-week schedule (average of 3, mostly weekends), covering 7a-7p or 7p-7a 12-hour blocks
• One 12-hour buddy call orientation shift required within the first two weeks, scheduled on a weekend
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state license or Compact license) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of General Surgery OR experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Recent experience required: 2 years within the last 7 years
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Driver's license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, vascular, gynecology, and plastics
• Experience with robotics (Da Vinci Xi, Mako Surgical System) and endoscopic procedures is valued
• Facility requires Flu vaccination for all employees
• Scrubs are provided
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel RN
