Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week Level I Trauma Center assignment requiring TNCC, PALS, and ACLS certifications along with on-call availability.

Details

• PACU unit within a Level I Trauma Center setting
• Patient mix includes both adults and pediatrics
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• On-call requirement of 2 weekday shifts and 1 weekend 12-hour shift within a 6-week schedule, including 1 summer and 1 winter holiday on-call
• Possible float assignment to Tabor GI or Pain Center if needed
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Cerner Aecis Surgi Net charting system
• Scrubs provided
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Critical Care or PACU required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• ICU background required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• SICU, MICU, and CTICU experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Prior travel experience with Critical Care/PACU background required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia care for a diverse surgical population including neuro, cardiovascular, orthopedic, GI, GU, GYN, plastics, and pediatric cases
• Skilled in airway management, ventilator care, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring including arterial lines, CVP, and dysrhythmia recognition
• Competency in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Familiarity with various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
• Knowledge of pre/post-operative care including EKG, medication reconciliation, and patient education
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
