Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 22-week assignment requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based CT Scan department
• Monday-Wednesday schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM shifts
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 2-3 call shifts required every 6 weeks
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• May float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; graduate of accredited Allied Health Professional program preferred
• Completion of accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
• ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
• Active SC or compact license required if applicable
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic images preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations
• Must be able to lift/move patients and perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hand/finger dexterity
• Ability to lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently

Additional Information

• Produce CT radiographs of designated anatomical areas under physician direction to assist in diagnosis of disease or injury
• Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring understanding and comfort throughout
• Communicate with radiologists and other staff regarding orders, diagnoses, and clinical history
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and maintain compliance with DHEC and TJC guidelines
• Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure
• May be required to work weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts based on departmental needs
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation is common in this role
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one year from the initial start date before requiring a break before starting a new assignment
