Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT registration and BLS certification for a 20-week hospital imaging assignment.
Details
- Hospital-based CT Scan department
- 20-week assignment with 3 shifts per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
- 2-3 call shifts every 6 weeks
- May be required to float to a sister hospital nearby
- Uses Cerner EMR system
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of accredited Allied Health Professionals program preferred
- Successful completion of accredited Computed Tomography program preferred
- One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Registered in Radiologic Technology by ARRT, or current facility teammate with permanent SCRQSA Radiography certification
- ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
- Active SC or compact license required if applicable
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients
- Ability to lift, move, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
- Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity and reaching with hands/arms
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range required
Additional Information
- Produce CT radiographs of designated anatomical areas under medical supervision of certified radiologists to assist in diagnosis of patient disease or injury
- Assist radiologists on procedures as needed and supervise student Radiologic Technologists
- Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate techniques
- Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent
- Communicate with radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions
- Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines
- Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure requirements
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, or take call based on departmental needs
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation is common in this role
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break before returning
