Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for Endoscopy with 3+ years of GI procedural experience and NM or compact RN licensure required.
Details
- Level III trauma center's Main Endoscopy unit
- Gastroenterology specialty covering pre, intra, and post procedure care
- Adult patient population with mid to high acuity
- 7-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Common procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy
- Uses Olympus equipment and Cerner EHR
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call responsibilities required for weekends and evenings
- May float to PreOp if Endoscopy case volume is low
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of Endoscopy experience required
- Intraprocedural technical experience required
- Procedural Tech experience required
- RN degree required
- Must demonstrate critical GI procedural skills including biopsy (hot and cold), Savary and balloon dilatation, variceal banding, therapeutic injection, polyp raising, tattooing, foreign body retrieval, clip application, snare technique, and ERCP-related procedures (cannulization, biliary duct dilation, lithotripsy, stent placement, sphincterotomy, balloon sweep, basket retrieval, and contrast injection)
- Must demonstrate additional skills including endoscopic hemostat use, argon plasma coagulation, and Minnesota tube management
- Must score at least 3.2 overall on skills checklist
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across pre, intra, and post GI procedural phases
- Proactively assist other team members in their assigned roles
- Able to troubleshoot equipment and supplies independently
- Area-specific competency exam and skills checklist required for consideration
