Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 26-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a passing EKG exam score.
Details
- Med/Surg unit with tele capabilities, primarily caring for a Med/Surg patient population
- 1:6 patient ratios
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-730a
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Charge RN shifts required as needed
- Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
- 26-week contract only, no 13-week option available
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand
- BLS required, NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding compliance (2 attempts allowed)
- Skilled in blood product administration, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA administration
- Experience with nasal cannula and isolation precautions
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
- Experience utilizing Rapid Response/Code teams
- Prior travel nursing experience required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including respiratory support, GI care, and medication administration for Med/Surg Tele patients
- Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed for patient emergencies
- Non-billable compliance modules completed during orientation, averaging 2-4 hours depending on unit
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
- RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
