Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 5+ years of ED experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 31-bed Emergency Room with 2 triage rooms, with 7 beds utilized for Behavioral Health or Acute patients
- Serves all ages, including geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4, with exceptions during high-volume periods, admit holds, or pending discharges
- Uses MedHost as the primary ED charting system, with Meditech used for admit holds and extended behavioral health stays
- 12-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Rotating weekends on an as-needed basis
- Floating required as needed
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA or compact) required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS or ENPC
- Handle with Care certification required, available on-site
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Candidates with combined ICU and ED experience will be considered
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient acuities and age groups in a 250-bed academic community hospital
- Facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center
- Hospital offers comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour ED, cardiac rehabilitation, oncology, and 2 cath labs
- Scrub color is traveler's choice
- Random drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
- Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
