Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg/Nephrology position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license
Details
- Medicine/Nephrology unit in a hospital setting
- Cares for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex, including dialysis and nephrology patients
- Days shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Requires proper care of dialysis access sites, avoiding use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Experience with central line care and management, foley catheter care, and end-of-life care
- Charge nurse experience is a plus
- Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administers medications and initiates/monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no allowance for start date delays
- 30-day written notice required to cancel or end assignment early
- Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
