Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Med/Surg/Nephrology position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience and dialysis site care knowledge.
Details
- Medicine/Nephrology unit within a hospital setting
- Cares for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis patients
- Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours), with 48 hours approved as needed
Requirements
- Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- Charge nurse experience is a strong plus
- Must be familiar with central line care and management, foley catheter care and management, and end-of-life care
- Must know proper dialysis site care, including avoiding use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for an assigned group of patients, documenting nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary
- Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge education
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Returning workers may extend an assignment once for a maximum of 26 weeks total, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
- 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or ending of assignment
