Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg Stepdown unit requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and Stepdown experience.
Details
- Medicine/Nephrology unit in a hospital setting
- Cares for a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis patients
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
- Requires knowledge of central line care, foley care and management, and end-of-life care
- Must know proper care of dialysis access sites, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Charge nurse experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Documents patient responses to treatments and communicates changes in orders
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
- 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or termination of assignment
- Previous OU Health workers may reapply only after a 6-month separation following a prior 26-week assignment
