Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CT or compact RN license and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.

Details

• Work in a high acuity Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 for both days and nights
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Will float to other high volume cardiac (HVC) ICUs within scope
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
• Must be proficient with Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
• Experience with central line care, arterial line management, and ventilator management required
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip management required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required (religious/medical exemptions only)

Additional Information

• Provide high acuity nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement cases
• Manage complex cardiac interventions including pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Care for ventilated patients including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, and tracheostomy care
• First-time travelers accepted with cardiothoracic ICU experience and/or critical care experience
• RTO greater than 7 days requires facility approval
• Local candidates not accepted if within 75 miles of hospital site
• Previous staff must be separated from facility for 2 years before returning as a traveler
