Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele & Transplant position requiring strong MS/Tele and solid organ transplant experience.
Details
- Work in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital on the MS/Tele & Transplant unit
- Unit specializes in solid organ transplant, renal disease and dialysis, vascular, general, and plastic surgeries
- Provides telemetry monitoring with specially-trained nurses performing on-unit hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
- Patient ratio is 1:4 days and 1:5 nights
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend on-call coverage required
- No floating required outside unit scope
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong MS/Tele and transplant experience strongly preferred
- First-time travelers considered if they have 3-5 years of RN experience and strong transplant skills
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and port access/management
- Experience with blood product administration, PICC line, and peripheral line care preferred
- Experience with feeding tube care and heparin protocols preferred
- Experience with PCA, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
- Skilled in use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac preferred
- Experience with renal failure, surgical drains, and insulin drip titration preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Deliver med-surg and telemetry nursing care to patients with solid organ transplants, renal disease, and surgical needs
- Scrubs may be any color; OR personnel are provided scrubs
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
- RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a travel candidate
