Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a neuro-focused critical care unit requiring CCRN-eligible skills and night shift availability.
Details
- ICU setting caring for neurocritical patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizure disorders, craniotomies, complex spinal surgeries, aneurysm coilings/clippings, and thrombectomies
- 1:2 patient staffing ratio
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- 14-week assignment length
- Unit utilizes intracranial pressure monitoring, continuous sedation, continuous vasopressors/vasodilators, external ventricular drains, ventilators, and cerebral oximetry monitoring
- CT scanner and EEG techs stationed on unit
- Uses Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems
- Floating required
- Core staff given priority for on-call assignments
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- CCRN certification preferred
- Respiratory/thoracic skills and experience caring for ventilated patients required
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex neuro and critical care patient populations
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (1-2 holidays: must work all; 3 holidays: must work two)
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Previous Piedmont permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers previously cancelled or deemed unable to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
- Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
