Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of trauma experience.
Details
- NICU unit within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Must float between two nearby campuses connected by a shuttle
- No self-scheduling or special scheduling accommodations permitted; schedules assigned based on unit staffing needs
- No on-call requirement
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- RRT and ACLS certifications required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Preferred experience with NRP and PALS certifications
- Preferred experience with Hamilton C6 ventilator and extracorporeal therapies
- License required if applicable
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine booster required with religious or medical exemption only
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU
- Work within a large academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Travelers are expected to clock in early and report promptly for shift huddle
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Travelers must be gone from facility for 2 years before returning in a travel role
- Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
