Description

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN with at least 1 year of combined adult/pediatric emergency department experience and active NY licensure for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Emergency Department setting treating combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts alternating between 7:00-19:00 and 11:00-23:00
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when census warrants
• Epic EMR preferred for charting

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required (1.5 years preferred)
• Competency with phlebotomy and IV insertion required
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management required
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors required
• Procedural sedation administration experience required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
• CVA and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Fast-paced, busy ER environment requiring strong, experienced RNs
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and emergency response
• Care for psychiatric patients including drug overdose and suicidal patients, with psychiatric hold management preferred
• Splint application/management skills preferred
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• Minimal RTO preferred
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Previous employees must have at least 6 months separation system-wide to be eligible
