Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a 13-week contract requiring MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.
Details
- 5N Oncology unit, a 30-bed medical surgical oncology unit on the seventh floor of Building A
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
- CNA to patient ratio of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
- Epic charting system used, experience required
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope, with priority to West Valley Hospital, approximately 15 minutes away
- Block scheduling not accommodated
Requirements
- Active RN license required; Oregon pending licensure accepted at submission
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with peripheral line care/management
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with rapid response team activation
- Computerized documentation experience required
- Epic charting experience required
Additional Information
- Care for medical surgical oncology patients across all stages of cancer diagnosis, including end-of-life care
- Obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire
- Work integrated with Salem Health Cancer Institute and Palliative Care team for a holistic approach to patient care
- Short term acute care hospital with Magnet designation, teaching status, and Level II Trauma Center
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers accepted
- RTO requests over 2 weeks require approval and must be finalized at time of consideration
- Former employees of this health system are not eligible for assignments until six months after employment termination
- Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start and annually thereafter
