Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring prior travel experience and WA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 1900-0730
- Weekend work required unless otherwise posted
- Floating required within the hospital to other ICU units
- No floating to sister hospitals
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Cares for patients requiring Impella, IABP, PA line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and LVAD/RVAD support
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license (pending license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Relias EKG telemetry compliance test required
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required, open heart experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with vents, IV starts, PA lines, pacers, and Swan Ganz monitoring required
- Post-op cardiac care experience required
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiothoracic ICU patients including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed
- Scrubs of any color permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
- RTO limited, cannot be requested during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays, with limited RTO allowed in November/December around one holiday
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Prior UW Medical Center staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
