Description
American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for night shifts requiring an active MI RN license and at least one year of recent Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting, including a 10-bed ER Overflow Observation Unit
- Night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:30), with 4x12 options available upon preference
- Observation Unit ratios are 1:6 at night and 1:5 during the day, with a focus on rapid patient reassessment, admission, and discharge
- Other Med Surg units maintain a target ratio of 1:5-6 at night, flexing to 8 patients with LPN support
- Required to float to other Med Surg units, with priority given to float assignments
- Works alongside a variety of staff including RNs and Techs
- Required to work every other weekend
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience required
- Must be comfortable working with a diverse care team including RNs and Techs
Additional Information
- Provide direct care to a mix of medical patients across Med/Surg units
- Holiday coverage is required with no holiday time off approved
- Travel nursing experience is highly preferred, though candidates with strong permanent experience may be considered
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed at this time
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at the local rate
