Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring trauma experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Adult Emergency Department of a hospital setting
- Treats a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Travel and trauma experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theories, practices, and techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills required
- Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of emergency department patients
- Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
- Workers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
- 30-day written notice required to cancel or end an assignment early
