Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neonatal ICU position requiring 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience and NRP certification.
Details
- Work in the NICU unit of a hospital setting
- Neonatal patient population
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
- Floating required
- Monitors intake and output of neonatal patients
- Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care
- Administers medications using bar code scanning
- Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds to report on patient assignments
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Additional Information
- Provide professional nursing care for a designated group of neonatal patients using the nursing process
- Complete initial assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of nursing care
- Report and/or correct safety hazards and incidents for patient and employee safety
- Offer constructive feedback to peers and participate in professional development activities
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
