Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center
• Average patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (license issuance can take 15-21 business days, so candidates should apply prior to submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years may be considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Participate in emergency response activities, including natural disaster response, as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions available only for religious or medical reasons
• Local candidates not accepted unless residing more than 75 miles from the hospital
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
