Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring CT or compact RN licensure and 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Medical Intensive Care Unit setting within a large academic medical center
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Floating required to PCU, other ICUs, and other campus locations as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required (or in process, as CT licensure takes 15-21 business days to issue)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel nursing experience)
- Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care required
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and HFNC required
- Experience interpreting ABGs and managing respiratory failure required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
- Experience with titrating vasoactive drips and emergency medications required
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID vaccine booster required with religious/medical exemption only
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients in a Level I Trauma Center environment
- Participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered
- Former facility employees must have separated from permanent staff positions at least 2 years prior to being considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- First-time travelers will be considered
