Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with 2+ years of Neuro Critical Care experience for a rotating shift assignment at a large academic medical center.

Details

  • Work in the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a Neuro ICU
  • Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and nerve or muscle diseases, many post-op from neurosurgical procedures
  • Role requires interfacing between neurological and other vital organ systems
  • Rotating 7a/7p shift schedule
  • 36 hours per week with no guaranteed hours
  • Required to work 3 of every 6 weekends
  • On-call required approximately 2 times per 6-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • Floating required as needed to areas of similar skill set, including ICU and IMC
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license, Multi-State/Compact or Maryland license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
  • ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience at a comparable facility size (500+ beds) preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical and critical care to neurologically complex patients
  • Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Strong candidates preferred given the academic medical center setting
