Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring cardiac critical care experience and fresh open heart experience, with prior travel experience required.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular-Thoracic ICU (CVT) of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac critical care experience required
• Fresh open heart surgery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Respiratory/thoracic skills required including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, and ABG interpretation
• Medication management skills required including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Cardiovascular skills required including CABG care, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath care, Swan Ganz monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• Infection prevention and isolation precaution/PPE skills required

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiothoracic ICU patients including those recovering from open heart surgery
• RTO not accommodated during major holiday weeks
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for the travel rate
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered
• Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screen upon arrival to assignment in addition to standard credentialing requirements
