Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager with Epic charting experience and acute care background for a day-shift position requiring an active AK RN license in hand.

Details

Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

Active AK RN license required in hand
BLS certification required, ACM-RN certification preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of RN experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Acute care experience required
Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Experience with care coordination, discharge planning, utilization review, and medical necessity determination
Familiarity with CMS, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines
Knowledge of InterQual criteria and Milliman guidelines preferred

Additional Information

Responsibilities include admission criteria review, continued stay reviews, discharge planning, care coordination, and needs assessment
Facility is a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
Scrubs provided by facility
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
Limited time off requests permitted, with no holiday time off allowed
Holiday coverage required for 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
