Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 3-5 years of MRI experience to work in a high-volume, multi-modality imaging department at a Level II Trauma Center.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet-designated facility
- Work in an MRI department with 6 scanners (5 currently operating) across GE and Siemens platforms
- Weekly census of 250-300 patients across outpatient, inpatient, and ED settings
- Patient types include implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac cases
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 4x8hr day shifts, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 0600-1430, 32 hours per week
- Weekend rotation maximum every 3rd weekend
- On-call Saturday and Sunday nights 2100-0630, with backup on-call Saturday and Sunday 0630-2100 and a 30-minute response time
- Weekly rotating responsibility for first-shift backup on-call
- No floating required, MRI only
Requirements
- License required if applicable
- BLS and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
- 3-5 years of MRI experience required
- GE and Siemens scanner experience required
- Experience with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac patients
- Breast MRI, Breast MRI Biopsy, and Cardiac MRI experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Experience with GE Discovery 750W, Siemens Aera, Siemens Magnetom Skyra, and McKesson PACS required

- Work alongside a Lead Tech/Coordinator and Imaging Assistants in a collaborative team environment
- Traveler will never work alone on shift
- 3 days of orientation provided
- Holiday coverage based on unit needs
- Professional-appearance scrubs of any color permitted

- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
- Former Advocate Health employees must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
- Clinical interview required prior to placement
