Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 3-5 years of MRI experience and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification to work in a fast-paced, multi-scanner imaging environment.
Details
- 6-scanner MRI unit (5 currently operating) with a mix of GE and Siemens equipment
- Evening shift, Monday-Friday 2:00 PM-10:30 PM
- Weekly census of 250-300 patients
- Patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and ED patients with implantable devices, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body, and cardiac cases
- 1:1 patient ratio
- No floating required outside of MRI
- Weekend on-call rotation approximately once every 8 weeks, including on-site Saturday hours with a compensatory weekday off
- On-call hours Saturday/Sunday 2100-0630 with 30-minute response time, plus first-shift backup on-call rotation Saturday/Sunday 0630-2100
- Uses GE Discovery 750W, Siemens Aera, Siemens Magnetom Skyra, and McKesson PACS
- Documents in EPIC
Requirements
- 3-5 years of MRI experience required
- BLS and ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required
- Active license required if applicable
- GE and Siemens scanner experience required
- Experience with implantable device, neuro, oncology, musculoskeletal, ventilated, sedated, whole body patients required; cardiac MRI experience preferred
- EPIC experience required
- Minimum 12 months of core MRI experience with most recent experience within the last year
Additional Information
- Located in a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated, Primary Stroke Center facility with 933 beds
- Work alongside a Lead Tech/Coordinator and Imaging Assistants; traveler will never be alone on shift
- 3 days of orientation provided
- Holiday coverage based on unit needs
- Scrubs of any professional color accepted
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers accepted
- No radius rules; local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former Advocate Health employees must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible
- Weekend rotation limited to a maximum of every 3rd weekend
- Time off requests subject to nurse manager approval
- Covid vaccine required
