Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience and an active MN RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiovascular/ICU unit providing care for adult ICU patients
- 13-week assignment with 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation
- Every 3rd weekend required
- 36 hours per week with on-site presence required
- Uses Epic for charting
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required, with no pending license allowed
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required
- CCRN certification preferred
- 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required
- CVS ICU experience preferred
- 6 months of recent travel nursing experience required, 1 year preferred
- Experience with VAD, Impella, ECMO, or balloon pumps preferred
- Adult ICU, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, or Multispecialty ICU experience preferred
- CRRT and/or transplant experience preferred depending on unit
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required
Additional Information
- Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
- Practice within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
- Provide leadership through preceptor roles, informal leadership, and quality improvement efforts
- Delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and available resources
- Demonstrate strong communication, mentoring, and teaching skills
- Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment
