Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a combined ED/Med-Surg role at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring TNCC certification and 2+ years of ER/Med-Surg or CAH experience.

Details

• Dual responsibility covering both the Emergency Department and Med-Surg unit
• Critical Access Hospital licensed for 11 beds
• Typical staffing ratio of 1 nurse to 3-5 patients
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
• Straight nights or straight weekend schedule options may be considered
• Day shifts run 0630-1900 and night shifts run 1830-0700
• On-call required for 5 shifts per 6-week schedule in addition to scheduled hours
• Must be able to respond to the facility within 40 minutes when called in
• On-call coverage may be needed for increased patient acuity, trauma situations, patient transfers, or staffing shortages

Requirements

• Active SD or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med-Surg and ER or Critical Access Hospital setting
• EPIC charting experience required, with site-specific orientation provided during the first week of assignment
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• ED response duties are shared among all staff to maintain comfort and competency in the ED setting
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be considered for local placement
• Previous employees of the health system must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
