Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 5+ years of relevant experience to perform diagnostic imaging procedures in a hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based MRI department
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Sunday 12:30 PM-11:00 PM and Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM-8:30 PM
- Off Fridays and Saturdays
- Performs a variety of diagnostic MRI examinations and operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment
- Assists physicians with diagnostic MRI and guidance imaging during invasive procedures
Requirements
- CRT, ARMRIT (MRI), or ARRT (MRI) certification required - license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant MRI experience required
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent education/experience accepted
- General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining sensitive information to diverse audiences
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Additional Information
- Explains procedures, medications, and contrast media effects to patients in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety
- Mentors and fosters a constructive environment for students and new technologists
- Performs general clerical tasks including answering phones, updating patient appointments, and managing EHR, LIS, and RIS records
- Prepares and completes accurate documentation related to patients, procedures, and exam charges
- Implements radiation safety protocols following ALARA standards to minimize exposure to self, staff, and patients
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment after each procedure
- Inspects and calibrates equipment, records QC results, and reports malfunctions to supervisor
- Accepts local candidates at local rate
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Returning staff or travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible to return
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
