Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for an evening shift assignment requiring 2 years of ER experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric populations
- Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Pediatric cases including head injury, near drowning, and spinal cord injury
- Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Patient ratios of 1:4 with possibility of 1:5 depending on volume
- Evening shift schedule (3x12 hours, 15:00-03:00)
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- 2 years of ER experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
- Experience with arterial line management preferred
- Experience interpreting ABGs preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Experience with ICP monitoring preferred
- Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury care
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Ortho trauma experience
Additional Information
- Responsible for orthopedic trauma care and general emergency department duties
- Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screen upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
- Candidates must not reside in Moore County to be eligible for this travel assignment, though all other local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former FirstHealth employees must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered
