Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 cath lab rooms in a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Patient population includes procedure labs, Cath and EP cases
- Cath Lab cases include diagnostic/interventional, LHC/RCH, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotoblator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders
- EP cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
- Average daily case load of 5-15 cases
- 10-hour day shifts from 0700-1730
- Self-scheduling in 6-week increments with manager final approval
- On-call required including weekend rotation (2 shifts per 4-week schedule) and 4-5 additional overnight call shifts per 4-week schedule
- 30-minute response time required for call with no sleep room available
- No floating required
- Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips hemodynamics, Merge PACS, and Phillips c-arm equipment
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Skilled in moderate sedation using Versed/Fentanyl and critical drip management
- Experience monitoring and circulating cases required
- Experience with EPIC EMR required
- Candidate middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Support team includes a Charge RN who participates in cases, receptionist, hospitalist/physician availability after hours, respiratory therapy, and a manager/supervisor
- Orientation includes facility NEO and 1 day on the unit
- Possibility of being on call during holidays
- Scrubs are provided
- RTO approval allowed for up to 7 days
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rules
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
- Manager will conduct a second clinical interview
