Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a post-surgical unit, requiring stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical experience.
Details
- Post-surgical unit caring for patients before and after surgical procedures
- Patient care includes new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, and DHT management
- Some patients require stepdown level of care
- Patient ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC) required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required
- Stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical floor experience required
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- OR candidates will not be considered
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Full date of birth and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care for a variety of patients with health needs ranging from simple to complex
- Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Collaborates with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Facility strictly enforces credentialing deadlines with no allowance for start date pushes
- Returning workers may only extend an assignment once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6 month separation before reapplying
