Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit requiring acute care surgical floor experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Details
- Works on a mixed stepdown and acute care Surgical/Transplant unit caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients
- Also cares for pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
- Nurses may be assigned to either med/surg or stepdown patients depending on staffing needs
- Not an OR or PACU position
Requirements
- Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Preceptor and charge experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- BSN or higher from a Board Approved Program preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to a variety of post-surgical and pre-transplant patients requiring close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication administration
- Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Collaborates with physicians on examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans with patients and families and coordinates discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
- OR candidates will not be accepted for this role
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Strict adherence to credentialing and compliance deadlines is required; no push starts allowed
