Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2 years of experience and a required IN or compact RN license for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:5-7
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Required to float to like units within scope of practice, including within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Cerner charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac
- Experience with PCA medication management
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
- Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) and feeding tube care preferred
- Experience with surgical drains preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients, including cardiovascular, post-MI, and genitourinary/renal cases
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Travelers who have been permanent or PRN employees of the health system must wait 12 months before applying
- Current or past travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
