Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN with at least one year of ER experience to work in a teaching hospital's combined adult/pediatric ER requiring MN licensure.

Details

• Acute care, Level 4 trauma teaching hospital with 149 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts, scheduled to cover staffing needs across 0700, 1500, 1900, and 2300 start times
• Patient ratios of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital (Mercy Hospital - Coon Rapids) as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) for charting

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
• Experience in general emergency department care for combined adult/pediatric populations required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Date of birth, SSN, and RTO details required for consideration
• At least one supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last perm (staff or per diem) shift
• RTO ideally should not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Pre-start onboarding modules are required and must be completed prior to beginning the assignment
• References from this health system are not provided to travelers post-assignment or to those who previously worked as perm staff
