Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg-Telemetry night shift position requiring at least 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Direct patient care on a Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit in an acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (1845-0715), three days per week
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- No on-call responsibilities
- May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations and within facility as needed
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience required
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
- Knowledge of heparin protocols and rapid response/code team procedures
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care
- Comfortable using isolation precautions and PPE
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to cardiac, telemetry, and oncology patients in a Magnet-designated facility
- Navy scrub color required
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Travelers must take a 3-month break after completing an 18-month tenure at the facility
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
