Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU float position requiring a CA RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and at least 1 year of ICU experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 488 staffed beds
- Float Pool ICU position covering Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU units
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Minimum every other weekend required, may exceed to meet unit needs
- Float required to other ICU floors, lower acuity units including telemetry, and sister facility Providence Mission Laguna, up to 100% of shifts
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CPI and MAB preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration required
- Skills in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation required
- Experience with cardiac drip titration and continuous IV sedation required
- Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients required
- Compact or CA RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for compliance
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a float pool ICU role across multiple intensive care units
- Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; post-offer RTO changes may not be accommodated
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
- Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
