Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Registered Nurse requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and a compact or LA RN license.
Details
- ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:5/6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 to 19:15
- Performs specialized procedures including TPN, wound care, drain management, foley catheterization, and narcotic administration
- Epic EMR experience required
- Block scheduling considered
- No call-in requirement
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications required)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in managing antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, ABG interpretation, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
- Experience managing renal, cardiovascular, GI, neurological, and endocrine patient conditions
- Experience with central/PICC line management and blood product administration
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment managing complex, critical patients
- Participate in facility emergency response protocols as directed by unit management, which may require extended on-site presence during emergency events
- Orientation held five days a week
- Two manager or supervisor references required prior to start (charge RN references not accepted)
- Candidates must disclose RTO needs during the interview process to avoid offer rescission
- Previous Ochsner Health staff or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation before returning as a travel contractor
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
